Play 9 Card Golf Online Free

Play Nine Card Golf against Mina, a computer opponent, with no download or sign-up required. Each player has a three-by-three grid. Build low-scoring columns across a full nine-hole match. This is a single-player game, not a room for playing with friends.

How to Play Nine Card Golf

1. Each hole uses two shuffled standard decks without Jokers. You and Mina receive nine cards each, with the top row of three face up. You start odd-numbered holes; Mina starts even-numbered holes.
2. Choose Draw Stock for an unknown card, or Draw Discard for the visible top discard.
3. Click any of your nine cards to replace it with your drawn card. The replacement stays face up and the old card goes onto the discard pile.
4. A stock draw can instead be discarded. In this version, that also reveals your next hidden card, left to right across the rows. A card taken from the discard pile must be used in your grid.
5. The hole ends immediately when either player has all nine cards face up. Both grids are revealed and scored, with no extra turn. Review the scorecard, then choose Next Hole.

Hidden cards are unknown to both the computer's decisions and your hints. If the stock runs out, the discards are reshuffled while the top discard stays available. Reloading the page or choosing New Match starts over.

Scoring: Three Matching Cards Cancel

Kings score 0, Aces 1, twos -2, cards 3 through 10 their face value, and Jacks and Queens 10. All three cards of the same rank in one vertical column score 0 together, including three twos. Pairs, horizontal rows, and diagonals do not cancel. Three Queens in one column score 0; Queen, Queen, Jack score 30 because matching values are not matching ranks.

Visible points during play are only a subtotal. Add the final scores for all nine holes: the lowest total wins, and equal totals are a draw. The leaderboard uses 810 minus your completed match total, so lower card scores earn higher leaderboard scores. A single hole does not count as a completed match.

9 Card Golf vs. 6 Card Golf

6 Card Golf uses a two-by-three grid and cancels matching vertical pairs. Nine Card Golf adds a third row, so you need three matching cards. Our Six Card Golf game is a one-hole quick round; this page plays all nine holes.

Tips for Your First Match

Keep Kings and unpaired twos for low scores. Watch for a third matching card to finish a column, but do not break a zero-point column just to replace a high-looking card. Revealing your last hidden card ends the hole immediately, so check both visible grids before committing.

Which Rules Does This Version Use?

Nine Card Golf is also known as Crazy Nines. House rules differ: this version uses vertical-column cancellation, automatic reveals when a stock draw is discarded, and immediate hole endings. It does not use row bonuses, diagonal bonuses, Jokers, or a final extra turn. See Pagat's Golf rules and variations for other ways to play.
