      Play Cambio Online Free

Cambio combines a hidden-card memory game with peeks, swaps, and a decision about when to end the round. Play against Mina, a computer opponent, without signing up. Each player begins with four cards and privately memorizes the bottom two.

      How to Play Cambio

      1. Study your bottom two cards, then choose Hide Cards & Begin. No timer rushes your opening peek.
      2. Draw from the stock or take the discard. Replace one of your face-down cards with your draw; the replaced card becomes the new discard.
      3. If you drew from the stock, you may discard the draw instead or use its power. Taking a discard always requires a replacement and never activates its power.
      4. Before drawing, you may try Match a Card on one of your own cards. Match the top discard rank to remove it from your layout. You may keep matching, then take your normal turn.
      5. Call Cambio instead of drawing when you think your total is lowest. Mina gets one final turn, then both layouts are scored.

      Card Powers

Choose Use Card Power after a stock draw to activate it. A power card is discarded, not also placed in your layout. A card displaced from your layout does not activate a power. Peeked cards remain visible until you confirm you are ready, so there is no memory countdown.

      Scoring and Matching

Aces count 1, number cards count their number, Jacks and Queens count 10, black Kings count 10, and red Kings count -2. There are no jokers. Add the cards still in your layout: lower is better. Red and black Kings match by rank even though their scores differ.

A wrong match reveals the guessed card and returns it to the same slot, adds one unknown penalty card, and ends your turn after you confirm the reveal. Empty slots remain in place. Removing your last card ends the round immediately. Running out of stock ends the round after the current turn resolves.

      Which Cambio Variant Is This?

Cambio has many local rules. This is our two-player, single-round, turn-based version: matching is limited to your own cards before your draw, never a speed race against the computer. There is no matching from the opponent's layout, out-of-turn slapping, caller penalty, or tie-break bonus. Equal final scores are a draw, including a tie with the caller.

The family is described in Pagat's Golf with power cards rules. Related games use names such as Cabo, Cactus, or Dutch, but their scoring and powers may differ. Check these table rules before applying a family's version.

      Cambio Strategy

Track positions, not just ranks. Keep red Kings and low cards, use peeks to learn an unknown slot, and swap a known expensive card for a better one when your information supports it. Matching is optional: a remembered match can help, but a guess can leave you with an extra card.

Mina has a memory of cards legally revealed to her. She follows public swaps and discard pickups but cannot see your secret peeks, hidden replacements, or the stock order.

      Controls, Wins, and Saving

Tap cards and labeled action buttons, or use Tab with Enter or Space. When selecting a swap, the prompt asks for the first and second card. New Game abandons the current round; reloading also starts fresh. Unfinished games are not saved.

This is free single-player play, not a multiplayer room or real-money game. A completed win earns 1,000 game-score points; a loss or draw earns zero. For a simpler memory game without powers, try Four Card Golf.
