How to play Kings in the Corner

You play against Mina, Leo and Rosa with a standard deck. Each player starts with seven cards. Four open piles surround the stock; four corner spaces are reserved for kings.

    1. Build down by one rank and alternate red and black. For example, a red queen fits a black king. Aces are low.
    2. Start an empty corner with a king. An empty side space accepts any card from your hand.
    3. You may move a whole pile when its bottom card fits the destination's top card. A king-led side pile may move into an empty corner.
    4. Make as many plays as you like, then draw one card to end your turn. Empty your hand to finish the round without drawing.

    Scoring and winning

Cards left in hand cost one point each, except kings, which cost ten. Once any player reaches 25, the lowest total wins. Equal lowest totals share the win. If the stock empties and all four players end a turn without a move, the hand is scored as it stands.

    Controls

Select a highlighted card, then a gold-outlined pile. Select a movable pile to move it whole. You can also drag a hand card with a mouse. On a phone, tap to play and swipe your hand sideways.

    A useful first move

Look for pile combinations that free a side space. That space can help you play a king or start a longer sequence.
