Whist is the classic partnership trick-taking game behind many later card games. This browser version uses a standard 52-card deck, four players, a trump suit from the deal, and the traditional goal of winning odd tricks above six.

How to Play Whist

Each player receives 13 cards. The leader plays any card, everyone else must follow suit when possible, and the highest card of the led suit wins unless a trump card is played. The winner of each trick leads the next one.

Whist Rules

• Cards rank Ace high down to 2.
• You must follow suit if you can.
• Trump cards beat non-trump cards.
• Your side scores one point for each trick above six.
• The first side to five points wins this online match.
