How to Play Golf Solitaire (One Foundation)
-
Setup: 7 columns of 5 cards each are dealt face up (the tableau). One card is dealt to the foundation pile. The remaining 16 cards form the stock (face down).
-
Goal: Move all cards from the tableau to the foundation. Try to clear the tableau with the fewest moves!
-
Moves: Only the top card of each tableau column can be played. You can move it to the foundation if it is exactly one rank higher or lower than the top card of the foundation (suits don't matter). There is no "wrapping" (King can't go on Ace, Ace can't go on King).
-
Stock: If you can't play from the tableau, click the stock to deal a new card to the foundation. There is no redeal.
-
Game End: The game ends when the tableau is empty (win!) or no more moves are possible and the stock is empty.
STRATEGY TIPS
Try to uncover cards in columns with the most cards first. Plan for sequences where possible - try to create runs of cards that can be played consecutively (like 4-5-6 or Q-J-10). Remember, nothing can be played on Kings, so try to move them early!
