Go Fish is a matching and memory game built around one simple question: do you have any of this rank? This version uses a standard 52-card deck and four players, so each round starts with five cards per player and a face-down fishing pond in the middle.

Goal

Collect more books than the other players. A book is all four cards of one rank, such as all four sevens or all four queens. Books leave your hand automatically as soon as you complete them.

How Turns Work

Select one of the opponent avatars, then click a card in your hand to ask that player for the card's rank. If that player has any cards of that rank, they give you all of them and you get another turn. If they have none, you go fish from the pond.

Going Fish

When you draw the exact rank you asked for, you keep the turn. If you draw a different rank, play passes to the next player. The pond stays face down, so each draw adds a little chance and timing to the memory game.

Table Feel

The center cards are shown as a loose pond of face-down cards, while each opponent has a small avatar, hand count, and book count. The active player pulses so the table feels alive even when the computer players are taking their turns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I ask for any rank?

No. You must hold at least one card of that rank before you can ask another player for it.

What happens when I complete a book?

The four cards are placed aside automatically and the book count increases for that player.

How does a four-player Go Fish game end?

The game ends when all books are complete or when the pond and all playable hands are empty. The player with the most books wins.
