Beak card (Penguin Solitaire)
Beak card
The first card dealt in Penguin Solitaire. Its rank sets the starting rank for every foundation and determines which rank can start an empty tableau column.
What the beak controls
- Foundation start: foundations must begin on the beak rank.
- Empty columns: only beak-minus-one can start an empty tableau column.
Example
If the beak is 7:
- Each foundation starts at 7 and builds upward by suit, wrapping after King.
- Only 6s can be placed into an empty tableau column.
