Canasta Family Game
Play Bolivia Card Game Online
Bolivia is a large Canasta-family game that combines same-rank Canastas, same-suit Sambas, and special wild-card Bolivia melds. This online version focuses on the core table decisions: draw two, build high-value combinations, and meet the go-out pattern before the opponent does.
How to Play Bolivia
Each turn starts by drawing two cards from the stock, or taking the discard pile when the top card can be used. You can meld matching ranks, same-suit sequences, or three or more wild cards as a Bolivia meld. After melding, discard one card unless you can go out.
Bolivia rewards bigger plans than regular Canasta. A table with only one type of meld is usually not enough; you need completed combinations that work together before the round can end.
Bolivia Card Game Rules
- Canastas are seven-card same-rank melds.
- Sambas are seven-card same-suit sequences.
- Bolivias are seven-card wild-card melds made from twos and jokers.
- You draw two cards from the stock on a normal draw.
- To go out, you need either two completed Sambas, one Samba plus one Canasta, or one Samba plus one Bolivia.
- The match target is 15,000 points because completed meld bonuses are much larger.
Bolivia Strategy
Do not treat every wild card as simple support. In Bolivia, wild cards can become their own high-value meld, so using them too early may cost you the strongest finish. Watch for suit sequences first, then decide whether your wilds belong in a Canasta, Samba, or Bolivia.
For a smaller version with runs and a second hand, play Buraco. For the closest simpler table, try Samba Rummy.
