How to Win Klondike Solitaire (Turn 3 Deal)
Turn 3 Klondike rewards players who can read the waste order, protect tempo, and build efficient tableau ladders. Use these tactics to keep the three-card rhythm in your favor.

What Changes in Turn 3
You still manage seven tableau columns and four foundations, but the stock now serves three cards to the waste with every tap. Only the top waste card is actionable, so the other two wait in the queue until you cycle back around.
- Track where key cards land in the waste order so you know when they will resurface.
- Use empty tableau columns as parking spots for sequences that unblock hidden cards.
- The stock pile can be recycled without penalty, but every pass costs time - treat each cycle as a precious resource.
Mastering Tempo & Waste Memory
Success hinges on anticipating which card will appear after two more stock taps. Build a mental (or spoken) rhythm: draw, evaluate, prepare the next move, then draw again.
Memory cue: After each draw, say the next two waste cards out loud. When they return, you will instantly recognize the opportunity you prepared.
Tableau Discipline
Color balance is your safety net. Keep red and black options spread evenly so you can catch a returning waste card the moment it becomes available.
- Create or preserve an empty column before turning the stock when possible.
- Promote Kings carefully - an empty column without a clear plan may trap useful cards beneath the waste.
- If a tableau move reveals a facedown card, evaluate it before cycling the stock again; knowing that card may change the order you expect.
Scoring & Optimization
Turn 3 uses the same friendly scoring rules as Turn 1, but the three-card rhythm rewards longer setup lines. Well-timed tableau shuffles can produce combo gains when a carefully staged waste card lands exactly where you planned.
Pro tip: If advancing a card to the foundation would block the card beneath it from helping your tableau, keep it in place until the waste cycle catches up.
In-Game Helpers That Respect Your Flow
Our Turn 3 mode keeps quality-of-life tools close without removing the challenge:
- Auto Move waits patiently until a card is truly safe for the foundation - you stay in charge of the tableau.
- Hints surface tactical ideas without forcing your hand, perfect for rebuilding momentum after a long waste cycle.
- Undo lets you investigate alternate lines so you can memorize the waste order before recommitting.
