Solitaire Guide
Pyramid Solitaire
Pyramid Solitaire is a single-deck patience game about removing exposed cards that add up to 13. Kings clear by themselves, queens pair with aces, jacks pair with twos, and so on until the seven-row pyramid is gone.
How to Play Pyramid Solitaire
The game deals 28 cards into a pyramid. Only uncovered cards can be removed. A card is uncovered when no remaining cards overlap it from the row below. Remove kings alone, or select two uncovered cards whose values total 13.
Use the stock to draw one card at a time to the waste. The top waste card can pair with an uncovered pyramid card. This version uses one pass through the stock, so every draw matters.
Pyramid Solitaire Strategy
- Prefer moves that uncover two blocked cards over moves that only clear the bottom row.
- Remove kings quickly when they block useful rows.
- Before pairing with the waste, check whether the same pyramid card can clear another exposed pyramid card.
- Track aces and queens carefully because they have only one matching value.
