Play Hand and Foot Rummy Online
Hand and Foot is a Canasta-family Rummy game where the pressure comes from building seven-card books and timing when to empty your first hand. This browser version keeps the table simple: draw, meld books, manage wild cards, and race the computer to 5,000 points.
How to Play Hand and Foot Rummy
Start each turn by drawing from the stock or taking the discard pile when the top discard can immediately help a meld. Select cards of the same rank, place them as a meld, then discard one card to end your turn.
Your main goal is to build seven-card books. Keep your hand flexible, use wild cards carefully, and go out only after your table has enough scoring power.
Hand and Foot Rummy Rules
- A new meld needs at least three cards of the same natural rank.
- Twos and jokers are wild, but a meld still needs natural cards.
- A seven-card meld is a book. Clean books have no wild cards; dirty books include wild cards.
- You must discard after drawing and melding.
- The match ends when one player reaches the target score first.
How Hand and Foot Works
Make melds of the same rank, grow them into seven-card books, and avoid getting trapped with high cards in hand. Clean books use natural cards only; dirty books use wild cards.
Compared with Canasta, Hand and Foot is easier to understand when you focus on one rule: build books first, then go out only when your melds are strong enough.
Hand and Foot Strategy
- Use wild cards to finish important books, not to start weak melds.
- Take the discard pile only when the top card immediately improves a book.
- Do not rush out while your opponent can still catch you with a bigger meld score.
