What is the Win Rate for Yukon Solitaire?
25-30% Win Rate
Yukon Solitaire is a medium-hard variant where all cards are dealt at the start with no stock pile. This makes it a "perfect information" game once cards are revealed.
What Makes Yukon Unique
Unlike Klondike, Yukon removes the stock pile entirely:
- No stock: All 52 cards are dealt to the tableau
- Flexible movement: Any face-up card can be moved, even if buried under others
- Group moves: Moving a card brings all cards on top of it along
- 21 face-down: You must uncover these hidden cards to win
Key Difference from Klondike
In Klondike, only the top card of a sequence can be moved. In Yukon, you can grab any face-up card—even one with 5 cards stacked on top—and move the entire group. This flexibility creates more strategic options but also more complexity.
Strategy to Improve Win Rate
- Expose face-down cards first: This is your #1 priority—more visible cards means more options
- Use empty columns wisely: Only Kings can fill empties, so plan ahead
- Don't rush to foundations: Cards in the tableau can help you access buried cards
- Think in sequences: Moving groups efficiently is key to Yukon success
